Can I use any electrician to install my charge point?

There are many hidden dangers involved in the correct selection and erection of EV charger equipment, often faults are invisible and can not be detected until it is too late - it is therefore strongly recommended NOT to attempt the installation yourself or even use an experienced electrician that hasn't been specifically trained in EV installation.

Please only use Qualified Installers that have been trained in the IETs (Institution of Engineering and Technology) code of practice for electric vehicle chargers, and check that your installer has experience and knowledge of working with the network operator and a qualification such as a level 3 City & Guilds 2921 certificate and specific EV charger brand training. EG Myenergi training, Indra training etc..
